Amendments of employment contracts

Amendment of a point in the employment contract:

Your employer may propose changing a point in your employment contract: place, working hours, pay or qualifications.

If your employer is considering this change for economic reasons, he must inform you of this by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.

Refusal to change a point in the employment contract for economic reasons:

The letter states that you have one month from receipt of the letter to inform the employer of your refusal. Otherwise you are deemed to have accepted the amendment.

If you refuse, the employer can uphold his decision. In this case, he will have to fire you.

You are entitled to notice and to redundancy compensation if you meet the requisite conditions of seniority.

Amendment of working hours:

A reduction in the number of working hours stated in the contract does not constitute an amendment of the employment contract, pursuant to a collective agreement to reduce working hours.

If you refuse the amendment of your employment contract, your dismissal is an individual dismissal that is not based on economic reasons.
